Alberta Firefighters Pipe Band

Founded in the fall of 2009, the Alberta Firefighters Pipe Band, comprised of both civilians and firefighters,participates each year in dozens of parades, charity events, and pipe band competitions across southern Alberta. Soon after the band was formed several members took on the task of designing a new tartan for their kilts. Since the tartan would represent the Fire Services, colours were chosen to reflect the profession; red for fire, grey for smoke, blue for water, all on a unique black background dedicated to fallen firefighters. The band takes great pride in welcoming both veteran and novice pipers and drummers into its ranks.
