Foothills Games Cancelled for 2017

To all of our sponsors, vendors, volunteers and Highland community:

It is with great disappointment that we announce the cancellation of the Foothills Highland Games this year, to be postponed until July 28, 2018.

We would like to thank you for your past sponsorship and continuous encouragement over the years. Your support has been invaluable.

For our sponsors - thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us bring family-friendly entertainment, Scottish dance, piping, culture and heavy events to the Foothills area for nearly 20 years. To our vendors - thank you for bringing the flavour to our Games over the years. If you’ve paid a deposit for the 2017 event, please contact Christie to get your deposit back. We hope to see you again in 2018.

To our volunteers - without you, we don’t exist. So, thank you for coming out, giving us your time and effort over the years and helping make sure we run smoothly. Without our amazing volunteers helping out, in all of the areas on the field, from the gate, to the ceilidh, to the dance moms who help tabulate competition results, and those who set up the field, and everything else -- thank you. We hope we can count on your generosity of spirit next year.

To the Highland Games community - thank you all for your extraordinary support over the years. We’re so fortunate to be involved with a tight-knit, caring Highland community in Alberta. The Foothills Highland Games committee is continually working to plan and fundraise for our future events. Upcoming fundraising efforts include a possible fundraising ceilidh on July 29th - the intended date of the 2017 Games – and we also have a casino coming up in the 4th quarter of this year.  If you can help in any way, be it through your contribution of dollars or time please get in touch with one of our committee members. If you have any questions or concerns, let us know.
